Climate Education Creatively Told:How design will shape the future

Our philosophy at GoDo has always been to invest in humans who believe in changing the world, if even in small (incremental) ways. The kinds of people that invest their time in listening with keen intent to the stories of others, and those who choose the hard work that others shy away from.

Working with the ECW team has been no exception to this philosophy. They’ve taught us the grim realities of climate change, which by definition is: attributed directly or indirectly to human activity. More importantly, they’ve shone a bright light on the ways in which we can reverse the negative impacts we’ve had on our environments, through climate adaptation.

(Climate Adaptation Defined: Adjustment in natural or human systems in response to actual or expected climate stimuli or their effects, which moderately harm or exploit beneficial opportunities. Several types of adaptation can be distinguished, including anticipatory (before an event) and institutional (after an event) adaptation.- ECW)

Another part of the GoDo philosophy goes as follows: It takes a village.

Climate adaptation requires a village, and more. If we’re going to build a cleaner, brighter future for our youth and generations to come, we need to roll up our sleeves and get to work.

Lastly, and no less important, we believe that effective communication requires thoughtful design.

We partnered with ECW and created the most diverse tournament bracket in history, the Fundy Madness bracket. How is this the “most diverse” bracket in history, you may ask?

The Bay of Fundy is one of the 7 wonders of North America. The highest tides on earth, the rarest whales in the world, semi-precious minerals and dinosaur fossils; all this convinced an international panel of experts in 2014 to choose the Bay of Fundy as one of the natural wonders of the world.- Bay of Fundy Tourism.
